Caden’s Senior Portraits

When Caden told me he wanted cool architecture in the background of his senior portraits, I could hardly contain my excitement! Tacoma has some of my favorite architecture around, and after exploring downtown, I decided to stick around the Museum of Glass for his session.

Washington’s cloudy weather never ceases to impress me in photos. I was freaking out over every image, especially while editing (sometimes I’m my biggest fan). My preset edit tends to bring out lovely pops of blue in cloudy skies instead of turning it a mirky brown like most warm presets. It took me a long time to create something that retained the warmth of skin tones but left skies with lovely cool colors. These photos are a great way I get to show my edits off, and I couldn’t have asked for a better model!

Teenage boys can be especially hard to photograph since they tend to dislike appearing in front of a camera, but part of a photographer's job is to make all their clients feel comfortable during a shoot. Thankfully Caden made it very easy for me with this one! He was so comfortable and chill the whole time with very little effort from me! I have a feeling this kid could get into modeling if he wanted to.

We started around the Museum of Glass but moved the photoshoot to one of Caden’s favorite coffee shops, Anthem Coffee. Tacoma’s historic train station was our last stop, where I had to force myself to stop taking pictures. When I tell you I was obsessed with this shoot, I mean I was OBSESSED!
