Oakley’s First Snow

Meet Oakley! He’s a three-month-old labradoodle on the prowl for anything that moves. His proud parents, Kristin and Josh, wanted a beautiful pine background for their Christmas photos, and what better occasion to document than Oakley’s first snow!

It was a cloudy day when we set out, laughing at Oakley chomping on his bone in the back seat. However, not 5 minutes into our drive, we hit stand-still traffic. I was devastated watching our precious daylight fade away. An hour later, the traffic started moving again, and we continued onward.

By the time we made it to Washington’s Snoqualmie Pass, we had 30 minutes left of daylight but plenty of excitement. I was determined we would at least get a few photos, and just reschedule for the next weekend if Kristin and Josh needed more. Watching Oakley prance around falling into holes in the snow was fun enough to merit another shoot on its own.

Despite the short shoot, Kristin and Josh still loved the photos we were able to get! Although another shoot was not necessary, I can’t wait for the chance to capture Oakley again!
